Transforming Leadership Awareness for Inclusion
A prominent organisation approached ManagementbyArts with a unique request: to create a transformative programme on inclusive leadership for men, aligned with International Women’s Day. The aim was to encourage male leaders to recognise and address daily actions and behaviours that inadvertently hinder women in the workplace.
The 4R Framework for Inclusion
ManagementbyArts developed an interactive, 120-minute workshop featuring the signature 4R framework—Recognise, Reflect, Respond and Represent. Using immersive demonstrations, group reflections and storytelling exercises, the workshop encouraged participants to identify biases, respond with empathy and act as allies.
Scaling Inclusive Practices Across the Organisation
The overwhelming success of the workshop led to its expansion across regions, engaging employees at all levels. The initiative sparked a shift towards a more inclusive workplace culture, where leaders are more aware of their impact and actively foster equity.
Improving Performance Conversations in a Fast-Paced Environment
A leading AI company identified a critical need to enhance the quality of its managers’ performance conversations. With a fast-paced and evolving work environment, the organisation sought to equip managers with skills for meaningful, continuous dialogue to build trust and drive performance.
Active Dialogue Series: Building Foundational Skills
ManagementbyArts collaborated with the organisation to launch the Active Dialogue Series, a year-long programme aligned with the performance cycle. The first year focused on foundational conversations, starting with 101s for trust-building and Year-End Feedforward for future-focused development. To support these sessions, pre-programme communications, including whiteboard videos and targeted announcements, engaged managers early. Post-programme lunch-and-learn communities offered an informal space to share challenges and reinforce learning.
Creating a Continuous Feedback Culture
The workshops featured interactive demo skits, practical frameworks and real-world case studies, allowing managers to gain confidence in handling challenging conversations. Manager engagement in performance discussions increased significantly, with more frequent use of the organisation’s performance management tools. The ongoing programme continues to build a proactive, feedback-driven culture.
Simplifying Communication for High-Stakes Client Interactions
A leading technology company sought to enhance the communication impact of its sales and product leaders. These leaders needed to simplify complex technical language and adapt it for diverse client audiences to increase influence in high-stakes interactions.
Learn-o-vate: A Progressive Workshop Series
ManagementbyArts delivered Learn-o-vate, a six-session series designed to build skills progressively. The sessions incorporated demo skits, storytelling frameworks and real-world case studies. Small group coaching sessions provided individual practice and immediate feedback, while participants recorded pre- and post-workshop videos to track their transformation and refine their communication skills over time.
Measurable Improvements in Client Impact
The feedback revealed significant improvements in confidence, clarity and influence. Leaders became adept at engaging clients effectively, with the organisation observing stronger client relationships and greater impact in meetings.
Strengthening People Managers Amid Growth and Transformation
In 2022, Walmart Global Tech India (WGTI), the technology arm supporting Walmart Retail and Online worldwide, faced a critical challenge. Amid rapid growth and transformation, the organisation needed its people managers to enhance the associate experience while navigating expanded responsibilities. The objective was to build manager effectiveness by equipping leaders with tools to retain their individual styles while broadening their perspectives, all while upholding Walmart’s core values and culture.
M-Fit: A Tailored, Gym-Inspired Development Programme
Inspired by a gym concept, ManagementbyArts designed an innovative intervention—M-Fit—to accelerate manager development in two key areas: effective performance conversations and managing change to improve the associate experience.
M-Fit offered a range of resources and formats, enabling managers to customise their learning journey.
Key components included:
Award-Winning Impact and Long-Term Change
M-Fit’s success has been remarkable. Over 2,000 managers participated in ~150 live sessions, totalling ~7,000 learning hours and achieving a 95% Net Promoter Score (NPS). The programme won the prestigious Brandon Hall Gold Award in 2023 for innovation in L&D and has gained high internal brand recognition.
Managers reported increased confidence in delivering quality performance feedback and engaging associates, while associates noted improved satisfaction and tool usage, reflecting M-Fit’s enduring impact on the workplace culture.
Supporting Career Growth in a Competitive Industry
For Career Week, a leading technology company aimed to address the distinct needs of associates and managers. Associates required tools for self-advocacy, while managers needed to reframe career conversations to support their teams’ growth effectively.
Targeted Interventions for Career Growth
ManagementbyArts delivered two bespoke workshops. The Self-Advocacy Workshop enabled associates to articulate their value through exercises on elevator pitches and advocacy opportunities. The Reframing Careers Workshop introduced managers to the BEAM model (Balance, Expansion, Advancement, Mastery), shifting career conversations from advice-driven to coaching-focused. Managers practised asking open-ended questions and exploring diverse growth paths for their associates.
Equipping a Workforce for the Future
These programmes empowered associates and managers to approach career growth with confidence and clarity. By addressing key talent retention and development challenges, the organisation enhanced its ability to meet the evolving expectations of today’s workforce.
